Scholarship and Financial Aid Policy

Introduction

This policy outlines scholarship and financial aid opportunities available to learners enrolled in courses offered by the Arabic Language Institute. The goal is to encourage students to excel while ensuring financial barriers do not prevent eligible learners from advancing their language skills and achieving their educational goals.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for financial aid or scholarships depends on the course or program. General eligibility criteria include:

Note: Financial aid for learning Arabic is primarily performance-based. To qualify for financial aid, applicants must:

  1. Complete at least one level at the institute.
  2. Achieve a minimum average of 80% across all four language skills.

Types of Financial Aid and Scholarships:

Aid Application Process

  2. Documentation: Submit your previous marksheet along with proof of income, tax returns, or other documents to verify financial need.
  3. Personal Statement: Write a brief essay (in English, Arabic, or Bangla) explaining your motivations for taking the course, your educational goals, and your reasons for needing financial assistance.
  4. Meeting Deadlines: Submit your application by the specified deadline. Late applications may not be considered.

Review and Selection Process

  1. Review Committee: A dedicated committee will review applications based on academic performance, financial need, and the applicant’s commitment.
  2. Decision Notification: Applicants will be notified of the decision via email within the specified timeframe.
  3. Acceptance Requirements: Recipients must formally accept the scholarship or financial aid offer through the website.

Conditions and Obligations

  1. Course Completion: Financial aid recipients must complete the course or program. Failure to do so may result in losing the scholarship, and it could affect eligibility for future aid.
  2. Progress Reports: Recipients may be required to submit progress reports to demonstrate their learning outcomes.

Renewal and Continuance

For programs with multiple levels, scholarships and financial aid will be renewed for each level, provided the learner maintains satisfactory academic performance and demonstrates ongoing financial need. In other cases, learners may need to reapply for aid for new courses or programs.

Transparency and Confidentiality

Transparency: The selection criteria and process for financial aid and scholarships will be transparent and communicated clearly to all applicants.

Confidentiality: All applicant information, including financial data and personal statements, will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of determining eligibility.

Policy Updates and Revisions

This policy is subject to periodic review and updates to reflect changes in offerings, financial aid availability, or other relevant factors. Any updates will be communicated to current and prospective learners promptly.

Note: Please be aware that the An Nour Institute for Al Azhar Education does not receive funds from any government or official entities. Financial aids are provided by generous Muslim donors, with a portion potentially allocated from Zakat funds for students of Islamic knowledge.
